Hello, September! Back to routine… and back to thinking about what’s next.

The summer memories are still fresh but, as we head into fall, the backpacks are hanging by the door, sports and activities are starting up, calendars are filling quickly, and life is settling back into its usual pace.

While this time of year can definitely get busy — and expensive — it can also be a great time to turn your attention to some of the goals you are working towards.

Maybe you’re thinking about…

➡️ Moving and wondering what that could look like financially.

➡️ A mortgage renewal coming up and would like to review your current mortgage and rate.

➡️ Renovations or home improvements you’ve been wanting to tackle.

➡️ Consolidating higher-interest debt to create a little more breathing room.

➡️ Finally planning that bucket-list trip.

➡️ Managing the growing costs of sports, activities, and family life.

Or simply wondering whether the equity in your home could help you reach another financial milestone. Your mortgage can be more than just a payment — it can be an important part of your overall financial picture.

As September gets underway, it might be the perfect time for a mortgage check-in. Whether you have a specific plan in mind or simply want to understand what options are available, I’m always happy to have the conversation.

New season. Fresh perspective. Maybe a new plan.

The Bank of Canada has left its overnight lending rate unchanged at 2.25% in today’s announcement. The Bank continues to monitor inflation, economic growth, employment trends, and global uncertainty before making any further rate decisions.

So... what does that mean for your mortgage? For homeowners, buyers, and those approaching renewal, this means variable-rate mortgages and lines of credit remain unchanged for now. Fixed mortgage rates, however, continue to be driven primarily by bond market movements and may fluctuate independently.

If you’re considering a purchase, refinance, or renewal, now is a great time to review your options and ensure your mortgage strategy aligns with your goals.

What does being rich really mean?

For some people, it means a bigger house.

For others, it means family vacations, weekend getaways, sports, travel tournaments, retirement savings, a healthy emergency fund, or simply the peace of mind that comes from sleeping well at night.

The truth is… wealth looks different for everyone.

That's why a mortgage should be about more than just what you qualify for. A lender will look at your income. A mortgage expert will look at your goals.

➡️ Do you want to travel?
➡️ Which sports and recreational hobbies are important to you and your family?
➡️ Do you have renovation plans?
➡️ Would you like to retire comfortably one day?
➡️ How much financial breathing room helps you sleep well at night?

The right mortgage isn't necessarily the biggest one available. It's the one that supports the lifestyle, goals, and future that matter most to you.

Before discussing rates, terms, and approvals, I believe in listening first. Because success isn't measured by how much house you buy. It's measured by how well your home supports the life you want to live.
