E-bikes and e-scooters are a fun and convenient way to get around - but safety always comes first. Following recent incidents in our region, the Nanaimo RCMP is reminding riders and families about the importance of wearing a helmet and understanding BC's rules for e-bikes and e-scooters.
A few important reminders:
-Always wear a properly fitted helmet.
-Follow the rules of the road and ride responsibly.
-E-scooters should not be ridden on sidewalks where prohibited.
-Under BC's Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Project, riders must be 16 years of age or older.
