Starting July 1, 2026, Ontario’s auto insurance rules are changing.

Several accident benefits that are currently included in many auto insurance policies, including Income Replacement, Caregiver Benefits, and Death & Funeral Benefits, will become optional coverage.

These changes don’t necessarily mean you need to make changes to your policy, but they do mean it’s important to understand your options and how your coverage may be affected at renewal.
