📅 Self-Employed Tax Reminder 💛

If you’re self-employed, your tax filing deadline is June 15th.

BUT — if you have taxes owing, CRA started charging interest after April 30th 👀

If you haven’t looked at your numbers yet:
👉 don’t panic
👉 don’t avoid it
👉 start with getting organized

Even if you can’t pay everything right away:
✔️ File on time
✔️ Know what you owe
✔️ If you think you’ll owe, making an installment payment now can help reduce interest charges

There’s a new GST/HST rebate that could save you thousands on a new home.

✔️ Up to $1M purchase price → get 100% of the GST back
✔️ $1M–$1.5M → partial rebate
❌ Over $1.5M → no rebate

If you haven’t owned a home in the last 4 years, you may qualify.

This is a huge step up from the old rules (which capped out around $450K 👀)

“Revenue looks good… so where did all the cash go?”

This is one of the most common questions I hear—and it’s a fair one.

Revenue ≠ cash in the bank.

A few things that can cause the gap:
• Unpaid invoices (money earned, not yet received)
• Unclear profit margins on goods and services (if your margins are too slim on your best sellers, your cash flow can dry up fast!)
• Loan payments, interest, or equipment purchases
• HST/GST owing
• Inventory or upfront expenses

Your business can be profitable on paper and still feel tight on cash.

That’s where good bookkeeping makes all the difference—so you’re not guessing where things stand. You need to know where you are so you can decide where to go! 📈👏
