We are reaching out on behalf of the Building Affordable Student Housing in College Towns of Nova Scotia Partnership. This research partnership between Student Housing Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Community College, and principal investigator Dr. Shelagh McCartney from the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University was formed to learn more about student housing experiences in Nova Scotia in order to build towards student housing solutions.

The purpose of this study is to learn more about the relationship between student housing and holistic student success and wellbeing in Nova Scotia. Learnings will build towards housing policy, program and design solutions that better meet both student preferences and needs.

There is still time to nominate a graduating student for Valedictorian – but the window closes soon – Tuesday (18th) at 5:00 is the deadline. If you are considering a student who is deserving of a nomination, get their name in.

This is the student who you feel will best represent the student body & who will address our community at convocation scheduled for Monday, June 9th.

With the convocation being held on campus, we’ll be having 3 convocation ceremonies and will be selecting 3 Valedictorians.

We will be looking for a valedictorian for:

Business grads
Health & Human Services with Early Childhood/ALP/ACC grads (combined ceremony)
Trades grads

If you are a potential graduate, or a member of Kingstec’s staff, you are welcomed & encouraged to

nominate the potential graduate that you feel would perform well in this significant public role.
