One misconception people have about my business is that I primarily work with clients who are my age. In reality, I typically work with clients who are much older than I am, often 20 or 30 years older.
I typically start working with an individual or couple, then their kids, and sometimes even their grandkids. This is such rewarding work, as I get to develop relationships with families spanning multiple generations.
What I've learned is that clients aren't looking for someone who is the same age is them, they're looking for someone they trust. Someone who listens, understands their goals, and helps them make informed decisions.
At the end of the day, clients don't hire me because of my age (however many of my older clients think it is a benefit to working with someone younger who can also help their kids and grandkids). My clients hire me because they value the advice and guidance I provide.
The relationships I've built over the years are based on trust, consistency and helping families make informed decisions through every stage of life.
What qualities do you value most in someone you trust for financial advice?
