Are you trying to keep up with the Joneses?

Comparing ourselves to others is a side-effect of social media. It has a great way of making you feel like you’re not living your own best life by comparison. Trying to keep up is due to the fear of missing out, FOMO, and can cause us to wreak havoc on our bank accounts and our mental health. During this time especially we need to make sure we’re not causing ourselves undue harm. Remember, social media is just a presentation, not a snapshot of reality. It is a carefully curated slice of life. Make sure you do regular mental and financial check-ins with yourself. If you need any guidance on your plan, I can help.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – a day to reflect on the damaging and lasting impact of the residential school system and honour the experiences of survivors, their families, and communities. The significance of September 30th builds on the grassroots momentum of Orange Shirt Day which commemorates the residential school experience and commits to the ongoing process of healing and reconciliation for Indigenous communities.

In joining the Progressive Aboriginal Relations Program and partnering with Indigenous organizations, such as Indspire, Sun Life is committed to supporting Indigenous communities and fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce that represents the communities where we live and work.
