As Christmas approaches I began to think about what to get the people in my life. As I was talking to one of my friends she asked what I want for Christmas. The only thing I want (need actually) is a the lifesaving gift of a KIDNEY.

Please get tested tested to determine if you can donate to the Kidney Pairing Program. This would ensure that I get the very next kidney that matches me and then fingers crossed, a year from the transplant I can finally go on my honeymoon to Scotland!

Consider these facts:
1. You don’t have to be “a match” to save my life through the KDP program heck, you don’t even have to know me!!
2. You can get most of the testing done in 1 day and the surgery date would be planned with lots of notice
3. The risk to the donor is minimal
4. There is no need for you to experience any negative financial impact
5. Recovery may take up to 8 weeks
6. You do not need to be in perfect health, just no diabetes or cancer in the past two years
7. Please don’t assume that someone else will step up…it has been two years since I asked for donors…and I am still searching.
8. I am not given any information about applications. All potential donor information is deliberately kept separate from the recipient information. It is 100% confidential, guaranteed.
9. Getting tested isn’t a commitment. If you are willing to get tested you will be given the results and asked if you wish to proceed with donation.
10. I am not asking for fun. I am looking for a hero…someone willing to give the gift of life.
