The CAD/USD is opening at 1.3988 (0.7149). USD/CAD remains subdued near 1.3990, with resistance at 1.4045 and support at 1.3930. The Fed held interest rates at 3.75%–4.00%, signaling a slightly dovish shift and reducing expectations for future hikes. Meanwhile, the Bank of Canada raised rates to 2.5%, its first increase in three years, amid persistent inflation. The UK budget maintained fiscal discipline while introducing energy relief measures, and the US goods trade deficit widened to $134.9 billion in September. US equities edged higher, while Asian markets were mixed. Oil prices declined, natural gas surged, and gold remained under pressure. The US dollar initially weakened following the Fed’s decision but recovered early Thursday.
