Starting August 1st, the Canadian government is extending amortization periods to 30 years for insured mortgages on newly built homes. This move aims to enhance affordability and promote construction in our thriving housing market.

In addition, first-time homebuyers will now be able to withdraw up to $60,000 from their RRSPs to put towards their dream home. Plus, there's good news for those who make withdrawals between Jan. 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2025 – repayment timelines have been extended to up to five years, providing more flexibility and peace of mind.
