By exploring a community-led approach to home energy retrofits in Cape Breton/Unama'ki, the initiative has the potential to reduce energy poverty, improve housing, strengthen local skills and create pathways to meaningful employment in the growing green economy.

For us, this is exactly the kind of work we want to support: practical solutions that help communities address today's challenges while building long-term resilience and opportunity.

Rupinder Kaur, Energy and skills development coordinator at the EAC, has contributed our most recent In Our Power blog: The Green Streets Vision for Cape Breton/Unama’ki.

🏠 Cape Breton communities continue to face growing pressures related to housing affordability, energy costs, workforce shortages and aging housing stock.

Nine of then ten Nova Scotian communities with the highest rates of energy poverty are in Cape Breton.

Green Streets brings these priorities together by exploring how a community pre-retrofit model could fill service gaps, strengthen local capacity, and keep economic benefits circulating within the community 🏘.

Our colleagues were happy to spend some time volunteering at North Grove Community Farm this week. Thanks to the North Grove team for the warm welcome and the incredible work you do in the community everyday.

Thanks to Admiral Insurance (Admiral Jobs - Canada) for spending a humid afternoon volunteering on The North Grove Community Farm this week.

Before ending the day making bouquets, this group helped us transition The North Grove chickens to a bigger run! We took down the old fence and put a protective mesh roof up over the new one to keep them safe. The happy hens now have twice as much space, lots more shade, and direct access to their favourite treat – dandelion leaves!

We appreciate everything you do for this community! 🐔

Facilitated by Josh Hynes from our Learning & Development team, the six-month program helped participants develop leadership capabilities, explore new perspectives, and build connections with colleagues from across the business.

🍁🏅 Team Canada Takes on the Admiral Games! 🏅🍁

Last week, colleagues from across the Admiral Group came together in Cardiff for the return of the Admiral Games 2026—two days of friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of memorable moments.

Representing Canada were Victoria, Katelyn, Joshua, Jacob, Macy, and Corey, who joined colleagues from across the Admiral Group to compete in events including athletics, swimming, football, tennis, triathlon, boccia, and the Admiral Pentathlon.

The Admiral Games are a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from different countries, take on new challenges, and experience the international side of Admiral. 🌍

Congratulations to our Canadian team for representing Admiral Canada so well, and thank you to our colleagues in Cardiff for hosting another fantastic event.
