It’s that time of year when the whole neighbourhood starts coming back to life ☀️
A few small actions can make your yard more enjoyable… and safe, too.

Before bringing out the BBQ and patio furniture, here are a few things to keep in mind:

✔️ Take a walk around your yard
Clear fallen branches, check for winter damage, and make sure water drains away from your home… it also helps prevent issues that could impact nearby properties.

✔️ Get your equipment ready
Lawn mower, trimmer, BBQ: making sure everything works properly helps avoid accidents and keeps things running smoothly for everyone.

✔️ Clean and refresh your space
A tidy yard doesn’t just feel better, it makes the whole neighbourhood more welcoming.

✔️ Keep safety in mind
Outdoor lighting, clear pathways, and safely stored tools help reduce risks for you and your family.

✔️ Stay up to date
If you’ve made changes to your home or yard, it’s a good time to review your insurance coverage and make sure everything is still aligned.

A little preparation goes a long way 🌿

🚗 Canada Road Safety Week

Every trip matters. Every decision does too.

This week, across the country, Canada Road Safety Week is a reminder that safety is everyone’s responsibility, on every road, every day.

Risky behaviours are often the same:
• Distracted driving
• Impaired driving (alcohol, drugs, or fatigue)
• Aggressive driving
• Not wearing a seatbelt

But so are the actions that help keep everyone safe 👇

✔️ Keep your eyes on the road, not your phone
✔️ Drive rested and alert
✔️ Respect speed limits and other road users
✔️ Buckle up, every time

Because behind every statistic is a life.

As an insurer, we’re here to support you.
But the best protection always starts with simple, everyday choices.

Spring cleaning, from attic to basement 🏡

Beyond decluttering, it’s also a great opportunity to pay attention to some everyday elements we often overlook, from storage and moisture to appliances and less-used spaces.

Small steps that can help make a big difference in taking care of your home.

It’s also a good time to check that your coverage still fits your needs!

Ready for road trip season? 🚐

Here is a checklist for next time you're hitting the road:
✔️ Check the condition of your brakes and tires.
✔️ L**e the axles and check the bearing, at least twice a year.
✔️ Check the hydraulic fluid level.
✔️ Have a propane inspection done – checking things like the pilot light and connection to appliances.
✔️ Check the vehicle’s electrical system.

And while you’re at it… check your coverage too 😉

We change our shoes for the weather… 👟❄️☀️

Why not do the same for our vehicles?

As we transition from winter to spring, it’s time to take the right steps:

✔️ Tires: Wait until temperatures consistently stay above 7°C before switching from winter to summer tires.
✔️ Motorcycle: As tempting as it is, wait until roads are completely clear. There may still be snow, gravel, and leftover road salt or debris. Safety first!
✔️ RV or classic car (bringing it out of storage):
• Check the battery
• Inspect brakes and fluid levels
• Examine tires for pressure and cracks
• Give it a thorough interior and exterior clean
• Make sure registration and insurance are up to date

Every season comes with its own checklist. Taking a few smart steps now can help prevent costly surprises later.

Ready to get your vehicle warm-weather-ready?
