📢 Bank of Canada Holds Rates Steady

The Bank of Canada has held its overnight rate at 2.25%, which means prime remains at 4.45%.

Canada’s economy showed encouraging signs in the second quarter, with GDP growing 3.3%, consumer spending strengthening and unemployment edging down to 6.4% in July.

The Bank says Canada’s economic recovery is broadening, although it continues to monitor inflation, higher energy prices and ongoing trade uncertainty.

🏡 What does this mean for borrowers?
With prime unchanged, variable-rate mortgages and other prime-based borrowing products will remain steady for now. Fixed mortgage rates are not directly tied to the Bank of Canada’s overnight rate.

Strata Mortgages is looking for a sales-driven, relationship-focused Level 2 Mortgage Agent who knows how to build a network, convert opportunities, and keep deals moving.

This is a full-time, remote role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being out in the community building relationships with clients, realtors, financial advisors, and referral partners.

What you can expect:
• A mix of warm Strata leads and self-generated business
• Base salary + commission + performance-based incentives
• Dedicated admin and fulfillment support
• RRSP matching and Health Care Spending Account
• Paid time off + an extra Strata Day
• A collaborative, tech-forward team that is always looking for ways to improve

You’ll own the mortgage process from first contact through conditional approval, then work closely with our fulfillment team to take the file through to closing.

You must hold an active Level 2 Mortgage Agent licence in good standing with FSRA.

Many buyers are surprised to learn that some lenders may allow a borrowed down payment from approved sources, including:

✅ Line of Credit
✅ Personal Loan
✅ HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit)
✅ Other approved sources

The important thing to remember is that you still need to qualify for the mortgage with the additional debt included in your application.

What a great day at Muskoka Bay!

Strata Mortgages had an amazing time at Men’s Day, with two Strata teams out on the course enjoying a beautiful day of golf.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello, chat with our team, and enter to win our Vessel Golf Bag! It was great getting to meet so many people and spend the day with such a fantastic group.
