Our office is closed today in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.
🧡September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day across Canada.
Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and remember the children who never returned home.
It is a day to listen, learn and reflect on the history and lasting impacts of the residential school system, and to recognize that reconciliation is not the work of one day. It is an ongoing commitment.
At MacDev Financial, this day also has particular meaning because of where we live and work. Our Gibsons office is located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw - Squamish Nation. We are grateful to live and work on these lands and recognize the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people who have cared for them since time immemorial.
Across the Sunshine Coast, we also acknowledge the shíshálh Nation, and the deep and enduring connection of Indigenous Peoples to these lands and waters.
