✨RBC Performance Conference 2026 ✨
Last week I was at JW Marriott Marco Island, Florida for the annual RBC career sales force Conference. To make it there is an accomplishment all on its own. Countless hours of hard work and dedication to my clients and their homeownership projects. There were tears of joy along the way, tears of hopelessness at times. There were some really tough moments but mostly BIG WINS.
If you know me at all, you know I’m a huge RBC nerd. My blood runs Royal blue as they say around here. I spent the week surrounded by my peers and RBC leadership, I absorbed the knowledge and wisdom of the decision makers who graced the various stages of the conference. I left each day inspired and even more driven. What struck me most was the gentle reminders to put myself first. Experience the raw moments of life to their fullest. Be present. Take time to recharge.
Erica Nielsen said that when I put myself first, I’m able to show up as my best self every day. I had forgotten how to do that if I’m being honest. I worked, and worked, and worked some more because when you’re really excellent at what you do, the reality is that the work doesn’t stop coming.
I’ll do better. I promise I’ll do better.
Later this year I’ll be celebrating 20 years with the organization that helped raise me. I’m so proud of that. I remember being a 20 something slowly climbing the ladder and attending my first performance conference. I met Dave McKay for the first time and I watched him hand out Leo awards on the big stage with wide eyes, hoping to be lucky enough to receive one of those one day.
✨✨✨That day arrived for me on April 27th. I was awarded the Leo! ✨✨✨
Reserved for the most honourable 1% out of 100,000 RBC employees every year. I made it. I told Dave what a full circle moment it was for me as I accepted this prestigious award on stage.
Truth is, there was no luck involved. I worked for this. I built my business based on strong values and hard work, genuine caring and human connections. I am deeply humbled and so grateful for the opportunities that RBC has given me since 2006.
Thank you to all who have supported me and at times begrudgingly endured me and my roller coaster of emotions because I care too deeply. Thank you to my family who pick up the slack when I’m shackled to my laptop and still love me endlessly. Thank you to my RBC and real life partner in crime Rebecca Lance, who has had my back for the last 23 years.
Mostly, thank you to my clients for trusting me with their biggest life events. What a privilege it is to accompany each and every one of you on your journeys to home ownership. I would not be here without you!
