90 brokers contributed. 1,554 years of service. That’s 1,554 combined years of serving clients, consumers, and communities across New Brunswick — represented by just 90 of the individuals submitted for this year’s IBANB Long Service Awards.
We’re now preparing certificates for delivery this fall, and all recipients will also be featured in the Winter Edition of East Coast Broker Magazine. 🎉

And here’s what really has us thinking…. There are approximately 1,300 brokers in New Brunswick. If just 90 of them represent 1,554 years of service, imagine the combined experience across our entire broker community. 👀

Next year, we’d love to see even greater participation from our member brokerages so we can recognize more of the incredible people behind our industry — and maybe answer the question: Just how many years of brokerage experience are there in New Brunswick?

To everyone being recognized this year: congratulations, and thank you for the years you have dedicated to your clients, consumers, communities, and the broker channel. 💗

Insurance can be complicated. Getting trusted advice shouldn’t be.
Insurance brokers help consumers understand their options, navigate coverage, and make informed decisions based on their individual needs.
Because when questions come up, having an experienced insurance broker in your corner can make all the difference.
“I don’t always need insurance advice… but when I do, I call an insurance broker.” 😏
And this week, even BIPPER seems to know where to find the right advice.
Keep watching — you never know where BIPPER will turn up next!

🐾 TOMORROW is National Dog Day! 🐾 If there’s one thing we know about insurance people, it’s that we love our dogs just as much as we love our broker community. They may not understand deductibles, endorsements or policy wordings… but they are excellent at greeting clients, supervising work-from-home days, and reminding us to take a break now and then.

Today, we’re celebrating the four-legged companions who keep us company, make us smile, and somehow always know when it’s time to step away from the desk.
📸 And of course… we want to see them! Share a photo of your dog in the comments — and if Bipper happens to make an appearance too, even better. 👀💗
Let’s see where Bipper is showing up this National Dog Day…
Happy National Dog Day from IBANB!

✨ Meet the Board Monday ✨. This Monday, we’re introducing Pushpinder Sagoo, Territory Manager, New Brunswick, based in Moncton. Pushpinder has been in the insurance industry for 11 years and works primarily in management. Also… we’d be remiss not to mention that Pushpinder may have just taken international. 🌍👀

She got involved with IBANB after moving to New Brunswick, seeing it as a great way to build connections, give back to the industry, and support the next generation of brokers.

What does she enjoy most about the broker community? The relationships. Pushpinder says the broker community is collaborative, supportive, and always willing to share knowledge, even while competing at times.

One thing she wishes more people knew? Insurance brokers are trusted advisors who work for their clients — not just one insurance company — helping people find solutions that fit their unique needs. She also believes IBANB plays an important role through advocacy, education, and industry leadership.

Her advice to anyone considering a career as an insurance broker? Do it. It’s a profession full of opportunity, growth, learning, and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

And a fun fact members may not know: Before entering insurance, Pushpinder earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Welcome to this week’s Meet the Board Monday spotlight, Pushpinder!

Well… I think might officially be catching on. 💗👀
What started as a fun little idea is quickly turning into a full-on broker challenge — and I am absolutely here for it.
Bipper has already been:
📍 out and about with colleagues
📍 spotted in offices
📍 making appearances with brokers
📍 and apparently becoming a weekend travel companion too
So now I’m throwing out the challenge again to my fellow brokers, colleagues, and brokerages: Take Bipper with you, snap a photo, and show us where he ends up.
At work, on the road, at an event, at the cottage, grabbing coffee, on vacation — wherever you go, Bipper can go too.
Tag IBANB so we can follow along and share some favourites.
Let’s see just how far can go. 🌍

When did you last change the batteries in your smoke alarm? It’s a simple question — but sometimes the simplest conversations can make the biggest difference.
In the latest issue of East Coast Insurance Broker, IBANB Executive Director Becci Taylor explores the important role insurance brokers can play in helping clients think about risk before a loss happens.
From smoke alarms and fire extinguishers to emergency planning and FireSmart principles, prevention doesn’t always require a complicated strategy. Sometimes it starts with a question, a reminder, or a conversation during an everyday client interaction.
Brokers will always play an important role in helping clients recover when something goes wrong. But we also have an opportunity to help clients better understand their risks and take practical steps to reduce them.
A question. A reminder. A conversation.
Small actions can make a meaningful difference.
So we’ll ask the same question: When did YOU last change your smoke alarm batteries?

Looks like the next generation of brokers is coming to Fredericton… three at a time! 💙💗. One of our Emerging Leaders is getting ready for a very different kind of busy season this fall, with TRIPLETS on the way! 🎉
Apparently growing the future of the broker channel one person at a time was taking too long… so they’ve decided to speed things up. 😂
Three future networkers.
Three potential convention attendees.
Three tiny people who will probably understand insurance jargon before kindergarten.
And somewhere, Bipper is already wondering whether we make onesies in triplicate. 👀
We couldn’t be happier for this growing family and can’t wait to welcome Fredericton’s newest — and tiniest — future broker contingent this fall. ❤️
Congratulations from all of us at IBANB!

Well… apparently we have ourselves a little competition. We thought IBANB Chairperson Sheila had set the bar pretty high by putting Bipper on her nails for the occasion. Then her partner in crime and fellow Emerging Leaders Chair came along with this. 😂
Bipper around town?
Bipper manicure?
A completely unnecessary but highly entertaining competition over who can show the most broker pride? Apparently also!!
At this point, we’re not entirely sure where this ends.
A Bipper tattoo? Custom sneakers? A full Bipper wardrobe?
We probably shouldn’t give them ideas. 👀

One thing is certain: our Emerging Leaders are taking their commitment to the broker community very seriously… even if absolutely nothing else about this competition is serious. The competition has officially begun.

Sheila is rocking it — and we are here for it. 👏
As Chairperson of Emerging Professionals NB, formerly YBN, Sheila is helping lead the next chapter of broker engagement in New Brunswick. She is also a strong female commercial broker showing exactly what this industry has to offer: opportunity, leadership, growth, relationships, and a career that genuinely matters.
This is what the Recruitment Campaign is all about.
Showing real people.
Real careers.
Real opportunity.
And reminding everyone that the broker channel has a future worth shouting about. So please share Sheila’s video, talk about the campaign, and send potential new recruits our way. The future of our industry needs people like Sheila — and the people who will be inspired by her.
