First 18 holes of the season ⛳️

Great day on the beautiful Royal Oaks golf course in Moncton with my colleague Lorne Pilgrim-RVP, Bob Brown, and Patrick Landry of Confederation M&A. Big shoutout to Bob and Patrick for sharing their knowledge and insights throughout the day, always appreciate learning alongside good company.

Golf has a funny way of tying everything together. It rewards the same disciplines you see in business and investing: patience, reading conditions, managing emotions, and knowing when not to force a shot.

Whether it’s business brokering, financial advising, or a round of golf, the best outcomes usually come from consistency, smart positioning, and avoiding unnecessary mistakes rather than chasing perfect!

This event is more than just a walk — it's a chance to honor loved ones, raise awareness, and help raise funds for vital programs and services for people living with dementia and their caregivers across Canada.

My grandmother, Estelle, played an incredible role in my life. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when I was just a little girl, but she never let it slow her down. She was always socializing, always on the go, I admired that strength and spirit so much.

She managed her illness for many years, but in 2005 she suffered a fall that changed everything. It was as though the disease suddenly accelerated. As Parkinson’s progressed and her tremors left her bedridden, dementia began to take hold, slowly stealing her memories after Parkinson’s had already stolen her physical independence.

I walk today for my Nana, this year, and every year! Her memory lives strong within me, so much so that my youngest daughter carries her name as her middle name. And every time I smell lilacs, as we do this time of year I am reminded of her, and the love and resilience she embodied every single day

Every step we take brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
