It’s a scary time for all of New Brunswick.
These tips offer very good advice from the Oromocto Fire Department.

🚨 HIGH WILDFIRE RISK – PLEASE READ 🚨

We’re seeing abnormally high wildfire risk, the worst in over 40 years. No fires are currently in our area, but now is the time to get prepared.

1️⃣ MAKE A PLAN
• Create a Family Emergency Plan — escape routes, meeting points, emergency contacts.
• Sign up for Voyent Alerts and follow official updates.
• Know at least two ways out of your neighbourhood.

2️⃣ BUILD AN EMERGENCY KIT
Have a bag ready to grab:
• Radio (battery-powered or hand-crank)
• Flashlight + extra batteries
• First aid kit & medications
• N95 or P100 masks for smoke
• Water (2L per person/day)
• Important documents (waterproof folder)
• Cash in small bills
• Phone charger & power bank
• Protective clothing
• Pet food, leash, carrier
✅ Keep your vehicle fueled and ready.
🚨 If told to evacuate — GO immediately.
