Did a cooking class tonight at learned how to make barria tacos, mangonada, rice pudding, and enquires. It was so much fun. The food was delicious and we took so many leftovers home. Great date night out with the hubby. Very patient with all my mess ups.

Being a mom is my greatest accomplishment.

My children have stretched me and shaped me beyond what I can possibly comprehend. I have grown in ways that would not be possible without them in my life. I am so glad that they all belong to me.

Happy Mother's Day! To all the women who seek to make the world a better place by taking the time to connect with children.

Why do interest rates go up and down? 🤔

It’s actually pretty simple!

The Bank of Canada adjusts rates to keep the economy balanced:

🔥 When things are too hot (prices rising quickly, lots of spending)
➡️ Rates go up to slow things down

❄️ When things are too slow (job loss, less spending)
➡️ Rates go down to help boost the economy

Think of it like a thermostat for the economy 🌡️

For homeowners and buyers, this affects: 🏡 Variable rates (they move quickly)
🏡 Fixed rates (they move based on future expectations)

If you’ve been wondering whether now is the right time to buy, renew, or refinance—let’s chat. I’m happy to walk you through what this means for your situation!

Took the family to Calgary Expo. We had such a blast. Meeting Tom Welling was definitely a highlight. I sat in several panels, including one with Cary Elwes (wasn't allowed to take pictures) and Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) with Erica Durance (Lois Lane). Spoke to Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley). Saw so many amazing costumes. There are so many talented people at these events. I love seeing the ingenuity and the attention to detail that goes into some of the costumes.

Roran's middle school band competed in the Lethbridge band festival. They did really well. I love watching my kids perform. My kids have been fortunate to have such amazing teachers. Supporting their programs by volunteering my time pales in comparison to the work they do to run such amazing programs.

Not sure which path to take? Fixed or variable? You’re not alone 😊
A variable rate mortgage can be a great option for a lot of people, especially if you like a bit of flexibility:
• Usually starts with a lower rate than fixed
• More forgiving penalties if you need to make a change
• You could save money if rates go down over time
• A good fit if you’re not planning to stay long-term

It’s not about picking the “best” option—it’s about what works best for you and your plans.

If you’re curious, I’m always happy to walk you through it and help you feel confident in your decision.

I had the pleasure of being a chaperone for the LCI Chamber Choir trip to Edmonton this week

One of my favorite things is getting to watch these kids grow and improve, not just musically, but in confidence and connection too.

They had the opportunity to participate in a mass choir following after a group of singers from Namibia, which was such a cool experience.

What makes it even cooler is that our chamber choir actually performed a Namibian piece for the festival, and one of the volunteers there is from Namibia (and part of the traveling choir), knows the composer, and has performed the song himself. He ended up assisting with the adjudication and shared some really helpful tips and tricks to make the piece better. What are the odds?

The kids had an absolute blast, and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it. Moments like this are pretty special. ❤️

Turning 40 doesn't feel very different.

I don’t feel older, I am unashamed. I have earned every single year. I own these years. Every single one of them.

In the last decade, a lot of things have changed.
We moved houses.
All my kids are out of elementary school — and my “baby” becomes a teenager this month.

Some big personal milestones too:
I became certified to teach High Fitness, completed my 200hr yoga teacher training, earned an associates degree in general science, and became licensed as a mortgage agent.

Life didn’t slow down in between any of that…
We lived through COVID.
I said goodbye to 3 of my grandparents, my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, and my step-mom.

There was loss. There was growth.
There were new friendships, travel, laughter, and memories I’ll hold onto forever.

And behind the scenes —
I did the work to take care of my mental health.

I kept showing up.

That’s what 40 means to me.
Not perfection. Not having it all figured out.
Just… showing up, over and over again. ❤️

We tried a few new things for Easter this year. My mom found mini-lights that we put in a bunch of the Easter eggs and did part of the hunt in the dark. The kids really enjoyed it. I had to up the game for my teens and we've started doing a scavenger hunt to find their baskets to bring some of the fun back.

What is one of your favorite traditions?
