Turning 40 doesn't feel very different.
I don’t feel older, I am unashamed. I have earned every single year. I own these years. Every single one of them.
In the last decade, a lot of things have changed.
We moved houses.
All my kids are out of elementary school — and my “baby” becomes a teenager this month.
Some big personal milestones too:
I became certified to teach High Fitness, completed my 200hr yoga teacher training, earned an associates degree in general science, and became licensed as a mortgage agent.
Life didn’t slow down in between any of that…
We lived through COVID.
I said goodbye to 3 of my grandparents, my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, and my step-mom.
There was loss. There was growth.
There were new friendships, travel, laughter, and memories I’ll hold onto forever.
And behind the scenes —
I did the work to take care of my mental health.
I kept showing up.
That’s what 40 means to me.
Not perfection. Not having it all figured out.
Just… showing up, over and over again. ❤️
