I want to let everyone know that there is a wide spread scam going around in regards to SGI right now. If you get an email or text message from SGI requiring you to immediately put your credit card number into a link, it is a scam.

If you are not sure, please call us and we will help you see if it is a legitimate reminder or if it is part of the scam. You can also log into your MySGI in a separate browser and see if you have anything outstanding. We got three calls yesterday that were all regarding the scam. Please call us if you aren't sure. Definitely a good idea to take a look, video, take photos of all your belongings. Read up on this information below! 📸

Did you know that it is a great idea to take pictures of all of your belongings? You don't have to take picture of every pair of socks you have, rather pictures of the items in general, pictures or videos of your shop, tool boxes, closets and storage rooms. This can help on two fronts.

After a claim, you may have to prove that you actually did own something, especially in the case of theft or mysterious disappearance. This proof shows an adjustor what you had in your home, shop or garage.

And if you have a total loss, you may have to remember what you had. Losses can be very traumatic and it can be hard to remember all that you have to replace. A video stored in a cloud of your belongings can help you put together a comprehensive list of your belongings. People usually miss things that they don't use often, like a Christmas Tree, Yeti cooler or a unique tool you don't remember you have until you need it two years later.

So take a few minutes, wander around your shop or house and take some pictures and videos. Open each tool box drawer, each closet and your garden shed. It can save hours of trouble after a claim. Reach out if you have any questions. We are happy to help!
