Dave Maguire been a successful small business operator and consultant for over 20 years. After completing his MBA, Dave developed his initial marketing skills at giants McCain Foods and Moosehead Breweries. As a Brand Manager, Dave successfully managed a wide range of marketing activities, including advertising, promotions, packaging, pricing, new product development, and research.
Dave then lau
nched a highly successful advertising agency called Pulse Marketing, with partner Bill Murphy. The agency was a stunning success, growing from 10 employees and annual revenues of $2 million to 45 employees and annual revenues over $8 million. Under Dave's leadership, the agency won advertising and communication contracts with McDonald's Restaurants, Atlantic Lottery, Molson Breweries, and more. Dave also consulted with a wide range of small businesses during this period. After 7 successful years, Pulse was sold to Cossette Communications, Canada's largest communications company.
Dave then introduced Moxi Creative, Atlantic Canada's first virtual agency. This venture won the Halifax Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year Award in 2009.
Drawn to teaching and training, Dave has recently been working with a number of colleges and universities in Nova Scotia, teaching a variety of business courses and developing high-impact marketing campaigns. It is here that Dave has mastered the world of online marketing, including website development, paid and unpaid search strategies, online advertising, and social media management. Dave is Google AdWords Certified, and has also obtained a Certificate in Adult Education. Dave teaches Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, and a variety of marketing courses at Mount Saint Vincent University.
