Would your family know where to find everything in an emergency? đź’­

During a difficult moment, the last thing they should have to do is search through drawers, emails, and old paperwork.

Create one secure family information list that includes:

đź“„ Insurance policy details
đź“ž Advisor and emergency contacts
🏦 Banks, investments, and outstanding debts
đź“ť The location of your will and important documents
đź’Ľ Workplace benefits and pension information

Review it once a year and tell one trusted person where it’s safely stored. Avoid writing passwords or PINs directly on the list.

A few minutes of preparation today could make a hard day easier for the people you love. đź’™

Parents, if your children depend on your income, how would they manage if you could no longer bring home a paycheque?

The bills still arrive when someone is too sick to work. The mortgage is still due when a family loses someone they love.

And in the middle of the heartbreak, there are groceries to buy and children who still need to be cared for.

As a mom of four, that question feels personal. I want my children to have time to grieve or adjust without the added burden of financial worries.

We can’t predict everything. But we can take steps today to help protect the people who depend on us. ❤️

What are your children learning about money by watching you? đź’­

A grocery trip. A request for a new toy. Saving for something special.

These everyday moments give us a chance to explain our choices.

Try saying:

🛒 “Let’s compare prices before we choose.”
🎯 “We’re saving for something important, so this can wait.”
💰 “You can spend some and save some for your goal.”

Keep it simple and appropriate for their age. They can practise making small choices without carrying the worry of adult bills.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start the conversation. You can learn together. 💙

You work hard to pay the bills, raise your kids, and save for your future. Understanding your RRSP can help you make those savings decisions with more confidence.

Your children would still depend on you.

When both incomes already have a job to do, losing one could mean difficult choices.

Start with three questions:

đź’¬ How long could our accessible savings cover the gap?
💬 What workplace benefits or insurance do we actually have—and when would they pay?
