A lot of homeowners don’t realize what’s actually going on underneath their roof until the old shingles come off.
On this job, what looked like a normal roof replacement from the outside turned out to have mold and damaged boards underneath that needed to be replaced before the new roof could go on properly.
Honestly, this is more common than people think.
Over time, small leaks and trapped moisture can cause damage that you’d never see from the ground.
That’s why doing the job properly matters. Sometimes roofing isn’t just about putting new shingles on — it’s about making sure what’s underneath is solid too.

A lot of the time when we get called about a roof, the homeowner had no idea there was a problem until it started leaking.
There are actually a few things you can spot from the ground that can give you a heads up before that happens. Things like curling shingles, missing pieces, or areas where the roof edge is starting to wear down.
Up here with the snow and freeze-thaw cycles we get, roofs take a pretty good beating over the years.
If something doesn’t look quite right on your roof, it’s always better to check it sooner rather than later.
