Minimum wage in B.C. increased again on June 1, now rising to $18.25 per hour. This year's increase is tied to inflation, following the province's move to automatic annual adjustments.
For employers, it's a good reminder to review:
• Payroll rates
• Salaried employee equivalents
• Vacation pay calculations
• Pricing and budgeting for the remainder of the year
Small changes in hourly wages can have a bigger impact than expected when multiplied across a full team.
If you haven't reviewed your payroll setup recently, now is a good time to make sure everything is up to date.
