A short but busy week! Here's what happened this week:

* Thanksgiving: The weekend was wonderful with good food, family, and friends. Glenn, as always, cooked a perfect bird. We are back in Alberta this weekend to ensure we are there for the big vote.

* : Lots of plays this week with Harper and Sage. They are his posse here in Penticton (don't worry...they are on a leash!) Counting the days till we get to see Josie!

* Mortgages: Rates are still higher than they should be at the moment, and here's hoping things stabilize over the next month. We have the Alberta vote along with the US midterms.

* Canmore Life: Main Street is open again to traffic. I do love having Main Street closed, but it does add a touch of chaos on the weekends when you have chores to get done.

* Winter Weather Coming? I, for one, am thankful that we can drive home this weekend with dry roads.

Well, October has arrived, and the temperatures are definitely dropping here in Canmore. Here's what happened this week:

* Temperatures: Morning walks often include snow on the mountains. I am slowly adjusting to the new "normal." Some shout-outs to local businesses that have helped make our move home prettier!

* : Harris needs a bath. Very desperately. Lol. Not sure what happened when he got to Canmore, but there is a stank!! Where are the go-to pet washes here in Canmore? He also made a new friend over the weekend. Meet Maisy.

* Support Local: A huge shout-out to . Not only did they refresh our interior paint before we moved in, but they also did a complete stain for our condo board. The whole building looks refreshed inside and out. Highly recommend Eric and the team. https://www.peakperformancepainting.com/about-peak/

* Support Local (Again!): Spent some time at Bow Valley Garden Centre yesterday to bring some greenery back into the house. Funny enough, I did not have real plants in Arizona. Time to bring them back into our world. Wonderful garden centre with lots of choice. https://bowvalleygardencentre.ca/

* Mortgages: Rates are still very unstable right now. I would not hesitate to lock in your early renewal.

First 5 Bullet Friday fully back North! Here's what happened this week:

* Canmore Life: First full week back in our house in Canmore. Sometimes, it feels like we never left. Harris is enjoying the cooler temperatures and getting used to being back on a leash for his walks.

* : When you come downstairs and find the dog on the new couch. Glad it had a blanket on it overnight. Lol. He does love a good perch. His other place is on our deck, looking towards his sister's old house. They really need to move back here!

* Rates: Bond yields are still unsteady and seeing some increases this week. Also, the Bank of Canada indicated it may raise its rate this fall. Nobody, including me, likes uncertainty.

* Rotary Festival of Trees: It's the 17th annual one. Crazy? I remember the first one at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club, where we were so excited to make just over $13,000. Today, it's one of two major fundraisers for our club. The sponsor package will be out the first week of October.

* Mortgages: A new lender became available this week. They get their funds from Credit Unions, which gives them an interesting edge over some of the Monoline lenders. They will do a rental in a Hold Co., but no short-term rentals.

Probably the biggest news of 5 Bullet Friday in awhile…
We are home. Like truly, really, home. The moving truck arrived Tuesday. We are slowly unloading and taking some deep breaths.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the Grand Adventure. Thank you to everyone who has helped make the move home easier. You all know who you are. We love you.

Happy first 5 bullets of September! Can't believe that we are already here. Here's what happened this week:

* Moving: Patiently waiting for the moving truck to arrive. Or am I really patient? Good thing we have a place to land while we wait. Sounds like the movers will arrive by the end of next week. Fingers crossed.

* : Harris is enjoying the cooler weather, and we are taking advantage of things with good walks. It's been a long time since he could go for a walk at 5 pm without overheating.

* Bond Market: Lots of instability in the bond market right now. We have seen some increases across the board, making variables a very good option again.

* Will keep it short this week. Gladly filling the calendar for our days back in Canmore. Makes us appreciate even more what we left behind for the last 3 years. See you all soon!

Last couple weeks have felt like a blur, and not sure it's over yet. Here's what happened this week:

* Moving: It's truly the last few days. Movers here on Monday. Tenants out of our place in Canmore by month-end. It's amazing how fast 3 years go.

* : Trying really hard to ensure that the wee peanut does not burn his paws this week. Temps are in the 40s. Daily frozen pup cups are in the mix. Today, he may get 2!

* : I won't miss this one aspect of living in a LARGE U.S. city. Late last night, my emergency alert went off on my phone at 2 AM. Public safety alert for an armed and dangerous man wanted for homicide. Scared the daylights out of me! Panic run around the house to make sure everything is locked. Guess CNN will be tracking a manhunt today.

* Rates: Some increases this week due to the usual suspects.

* Kootenay Savings: Looking for a lender in the Kootenays? I've got you covered! Great credit union to work with and always has great rates.

Back into routine after travelling back South to move the final bits. It's been a wild week!

* Wildfires: Thinking of the people of Summerland right now. We left Penticton last Thursday to drive south to meet our movers in Arizona for the final push home, so we missed the stress of last Friday. The video and pictures of the evacuation were frightening, to say the least. I took the picture above BEFORE the Summerland fire started, so you get how smoky it already was.

* Phoenix: And with that, just 10 days till the movers arrive here in Arizona. Three years go quickly, and we will keep very fond memories of our time here. We have spent the week here visiting our favourite spots for dinner.

* : Harris is enjoying his time back south as well with Lulu, Cookie, Bode, Willow, and the gang. He actually sheds less here. Who knew!?

* Lending: It's been an interesting week, as one of my main STR lenders pulled out of Canmore. Too much concentration of lending in one area of Alberta. To me, it makes me nervous when liquidity starts to dry up. This is the case here.

* Rates: Quiet week, rate-wise. We did see a small increase in some quick-close insured rates.
