It is VERY important to check your credit score.

Imagine this. You decide you want to buy a home. You come see me to get a pre approval and find out that your credit score is stopping you from getting a mortgage or your interest rate is higher because of your score.

This could be because you were unaware of what missed payments could do to your score or unaware of an error on your credit report.

If you check your credit score on Equifax, you can check for any errors and see what you can do to improve your score.

One year ago, Jaret and I bought our first home. It’s crazy to look back and see what it used to look like. I learned so much during the process, had so much fun and all the hard work was definitely worth it.

I’m not sure if I’d ever do a project like this again 😅. However, I am thankful we got the opportunity to build equity and make this place our own.

This morning the Bank of Canada elected to keep its benchmark interest rate steady at 0.25%. This means that the borrowing costs(INTEREST RATES) for Canadians WILL REMAIN LOW for the foreseeable future.

Here is a quick explanation why.....Eight times a year, Canada's central bank meets to set its benchmark interest rate, known as the target for the overnight rate. This rate impacts the interest rates that Canadians get on things like mortgages and savings accounts.

With rates at an all time low, it is a great time to purchase a home or refinance your mortgage. In any case, I am here to help! Contact me for more details.

2 posts in one day because I have some fresh good news! The qualifying rate has dropped again :)

This lets buyers qualify for a LARGER MORTGAGE. Although it may be small, the example is the article gave the buyer an approximate 1.5% INCREASE in affordability.

An easing of the mortgage stress test means it just got a little easier to get a foot into Canada’s housing market.
