· Global Divergence: The soft or hard landing debate will continue in 2024 as policymakers weigh evolving data. While the U.S. has the best chance for a soft landing, other regions, including Canada and Europe, face more challenging conditions.
· The possibility of systemic stress events should not be discounted.
· Expect diversification benefits to return to asset allocation portfolios, as inflation uncertainty gradually gives way to growth uncertainty.
· Improving market breadth should benefit active management regardless of whether we will be in for a soft or hard landing.
