Two more solid weekends in the books for Blake Smith Racing as we continue to build consistency, find speed and make positive changes to the 18B.

We started P5 in the heat and worked our way forward to finish P3. In the feature, we rolled off P9 and finished P9 on a night where there was very little passing throughout the field.

Another consistent finish and another Top 10. We continue to improve our heat race results while putting together steady feature finishes week after week.

π‘Ίπ’‚π’•π’–π’“π’…π’‚π’š, π‘¨π’–π’ˆπ’–π’”π’• 22 β€” Ogilvie's Auto & Fleet Service Triple Crown Night | 40 Laps
Time trials started the night off with a P5 in our group, but the overall lap time definitely wasn’t where we wanted it to be.

For the heat race, we started P5 and once again moved forward to finish P3, putting us P9 on the starting grid for the 40-lap feature.

In the feature, Blake worked his way from P9 up to P7 before the car began to go away from us during the second half of the race. 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 π’‘π’π’†π’π’•π’š 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 π’†π’—π’†π’“π’š 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 18𝑩 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 π’ƒπ’†π’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 π’‡π’Šπ’π’… 𝒂 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 π’π’‘π’‘π’π’“π’•π’–π’π’Šπ’•π’š 𝒕𝒐 π’ˆπ’†π’• π’ƒπ’‚π’„π’Œ π’ƒπ’š, we ultimately brought it home P8.

The car had some battle scars and repairs to make afterward, but we got everything taken care of and we’ll be ready to go again. πŸ”§πŸ

With the final Ogilvie’s Triple Crown event now complete, we also finished P6 overall in the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series standings. That is a huge accomplishment for our team and something we are extremely proud of. Competing consistently over the course of the series and finishing just outside the Top 5 shows how far this program has come and gives us even more motivation heading into the remainder of the season.

Overall, we are having some really strong runs and continue to make productive changes to the car. The biggest positive has been our consistency in both speed and finishes. With the season winding down, we currently sit P5 in points, and the goal is simple: keep putting together solid nights and hopefully finish the season inside the Top 5.
