Summer Student – Full-Time, Junior Web & Membership Platform Coordinator
Ladies Who Lead is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy summer student to support enhancements to our existing WordPress website and help strengthen a simple, engaging online membership experience.
This role focuses on configuring and deploying existing WordPress plugins (no custom coding) to improve site functionality, support a members only area, organize digital resources, and assist with the setup of an online merchandise experience using print on demand or drop shipping tools.
A key outcome of this role is clear documentation and knowledge transfer to ensure staff can confidently manage all new functionality after the placement ends.
Key Responsibilities
• Update and improve website pages, layout, and navigation within the existing WordPress environment
• Deploy, configure, and manage WordPress plugins to support website and membership functionality (no custom code)
• Assist with setting up a members only area for online membership access using existing membership tools or plugins
• Support implementation of online membership sign up and renewal features
• Deploy plugins to upload, organize, and present digital resources such as training videos, documents, and member only content
• Help configure online community features such as discussion areas, resource hubs, or virtual event access using available tools
• Assist with Zoom or other virtual meeting integrations for member programming
• Support setup of an online merchandise section using drop shipping solutions (e.g., via WooCommerce or integrated platforms)
• Test and validate user experience across desktop and mobile devices
• Create clear, plain language documentation and a handoff guide covering all new plugins, settings, workflows, and ongoing maintenance steps
Qualifications
• Must be eligible under the Canada Summer Jobs program
• Interest in web platforms, digital media, ecommerce, or online community tools
• Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems
• Comfortable learning and configuring plugins, dashboards, and third party tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, follow defined requirements, and manage multiple tasks
Assets
• Experience configuring WordPress plugins, membership tools, or website builders
• Familiarity with tools such as WooCommerce, MemberPress, BuddyBoss, Zoom, or Canva
• Basic understanding of website structure and content management (HTML/CSS is an asset but not required)
• Experience organizing digital content or documenting technical processes
