Winter’s supposed to be a buyer’s market, right? Ehhhhhh… not so much anymore (thanks COVID). 😏
Everything’s pretty much fair game these days, so don’t assume you’ll cash in on that elusive “winter deal”. Any assumptions you may have previously had about a winter market could cost you 💲💲💲💲💲 so here’s 4 mistakes to avoid when purchasing a home in winter!
✔️ Don’t assume you’ll score a great deal. Sure there may be less people looking… but there’s also less inventory - so the number of people competing is similar.
✔️ Skipping the home inspection. To the untrained eye - snow can hide serious problems with a property. A home inspector will catch things that homebuyers may miss.
✔️ Disregarding the home’s ability to withstand severe weather. How does the home you’re looking at fair up against the snow? This is a great opportunity that you wouldn’t typically have during warmer months.
✔️ Overlooking the property due to winter curb appeal. Use your imagination! ALL homes look a little more drab in the winter. Don’t let that stop you from buying the home.
