Brampton Farmers’ Market – Opening This Saturday, June 13th

As local residents of Brampton, we are relieved to hear that despite significant revitalization plans and LRT construction, the beloved market held Downtown is opening on Saturday, June 13th and will run until October 10th. According to the city’s website regarding the location “(it) will stretch along Main Street South from Queen Street to Wellington Street and Queen Street East from Main Street to Theatre Lane / Chapel Street, offering a lively and walkable experience in the heart of the city.”

You’ll find a mix of artisans, food vendors and usually some city endorsed activations to keep the whole family entertained. Plan some time to visit Gage Park, Beaux Arts Gallery, PAMA or a live show at The Rose.

As for the farmers, get to know some of them ahead of time:
Wanda’s Farm & Cornerstone Winery
Thame’s River Melons
Fenwick Berry Farm
Cody’s Cow
Butt’s Berry & Flower Farm

The market will run from 8am to 1pm with convenient and FREE municipal parking around the four corners. Check their website for an updated list of vendors. It’s the perfect place to spend a Saturday morning!

Are you planning on visiting? Share your finds with us or tag us in your pics.

The Bank of Canada decided to hold its overnight rate today, which means variable mortgage rates remain unchanged.

In a world that still feels a bit unpredictable, stability matters. While one rate announcement doesn't solve affordability challenges overnight, it does provide some much-needed confidence for homebuyers, homeowners, and those planning their next move. Consistency can help people make informed decisions without feeling pressured to react.

If you're wondering what today's announcement means for your mortgage plans, let's connect and review your options.

Fixed mortgage rates in Ontario are not controlled only by the Bank of Canada.

In fact, bond yields often move fixed rates before the Bank of Canada makes any announcement at all.

If you are renewing or refinancing in the GTA, understanding how bond yields work could help you make a smarter mortgage decision over the next 12 months.

In our latest blog, we break down: • Why fixed mortgage rates keep changing
• How bond yields actually work
• Why fixed and variable rates move differently
• What Ontario homeowners should watch next
• What this means for renewals and refinancing today

One of the most valuable parts of growing a business is never stopping the learning process. Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of the Goal Getters program, surrounded by incredible professionals, conversations, and leadership focused on growth, mindset, and serving clients at a higher level.

This week, we had the privilege of hearing from David Chilton, and it was a great reminder that success often comes back to consistency, education, and staying focused on the fundamentals. Grateful for the insights shared and the perspective he brought to the group.

A huge thank you as well to Gary Mauris and Renee Lee Huse for the guidance, encouragement, and leadership throughout this program. Hard to believe we only have one session left.

Growth happens when you stay open to learning, improving, and surrounding yourself with the right people.

Many Canadians are opening their mortgage renewal notices and wondering the same thing:

“How did my payment jump this much?”

If you’re feeling pressure from higher mortgage payments, rising debt, or overall financial stress — you are not alone.

CMHC’s latest report shows the renewal wave may have peaked, but many households are still adjusting to a very different rate environment than just a few years ago.

In our newest blog, we break down: • Why payment shock is happening • What’s really happening across Canada • Options that may help reduce pressure • Common renewal mistakes to avoid • Real strategies homeowners are using right now

The goal is not panic. The goal is having a plan.
