Aside from the obvious "pay your bills on time", these are some other things you could be doing to increase your credit.
1) Don't use more than 30% of your total credit. You will come off as someone who depends too much on credit.
2) Don't apply for anything unnecessarily. Hard inquiries on your credit can lower your score drastically, so you want to make sure it's worth it.
3) Don't close your accounts! If you have a something that you don't use, just make sure it's a zero balance and store it away. You will be increasing your credit utilization and throwing away credit history if you do end up closing an account.
4) Errors can happen and things can be reported incorrectly to the bureau. It doesn't hurt to do check your credit score. Check your credit atleast once a month.
