I put together a short, plain‑language guide that walks through some financial basics many people don’t always get a chance to sit down and look at — budgeting, savings, insurance, workplace benefits, retirement planning, and how the pieces fit together.

It’s free, private, and there’s no follow‑up or obligation. I made it simply as a resource for anyone who wants a clearer picture or a fresh perspective.

If you’d like a copy, just send me a message and I’ll share it with you.

Life insurance decisions
aren’t really about death.
They’re about protecting people
while you’re still here.
That shift alone
often changes how people feel about it.

HOW TO ESCAPE DEBT FASTER THAN YOU THINK (WITHOUT STRESS)
Let’s be real…
Debt can feel like a trap.
But here’s the truth:
Debt is not a life sentence. You can escape it.
And no—you don’t need to suffer or stress yourself to death to do it.
You just need the right plan.

WHY MOST PEOPLE STAY STUCK IN DEBT
It’s not because they are lazy.
It’s because they are using the wrong approach.
Paying randomly without a plan
Borrowing again while trying to repay
Ignoring the real problem: spending habits
Feeling overwhelmed and giving up
That cycle keeps repeating.

HOW TO ESCAPE DEBT FASTER (THE SIMPLE WAY)
STEP 1: FACE YOUR NUMBERS
Stop guessing.
Write down:
Total debt
Who you owe
Minimum payments

STEP 2: STOP ADDING NEW DEBT
This is very important.
Pause unnecessary borrowing.
Cut off habits that keep you in debt.

STEP 3: USE THE “SMALL WINS” METHOD
Start paying off the smallest debt first.
Why?
Because quick wins build momentum.
Once one debt is cleared, move to the next.
Confidence grows. Speed increases.

STEP 4: INCREASE YOUR PAYMENT (EVEN IF IT’S SMALL)
Don’t just pay the minimum.
Add something extra:
Reduce eating out
Cut subscriptions
Avoid impulse buying
Even small extra payments make a big difference over time.

STEP 5: FIND EXTRA INCOME
Debt hates speed.
The faster you pay, the less interest you suffer.
Look for:
Side hustles
Freelance work
Selling unused items
Use that extra money ONLY for clearing debt.

THE MINDSET SHIFT
Stop seeing debt as a burden.
Start seeing it as a mission. A mission that requires:
Discipline
Focus
Consistency
No shortcuts.

REMEMBER THIS
You didn’t get into debt in one day.
You won’t get out in one day.
But with the right steps…
You can get out faster than you think.
And without stress.

YOUR NEXT STEP
Don’t just feel motivated—take action.
Today:
Write down your total debt
Choose one to attack
Make your first intentional payment
That’s how freedom starts.

I'm thrilled to be a sponsor on the Fox Hollow Golf Club scorecards this year!

Despite the pouring the pouring rain yesterday, Bette Gourley and the team gave me a warm welcome.

A huge thank you to Bette and the Fox Hollow team for making me feel so welcome. I'm looking forward to a great season ahead!

Some questions feel too personal
to ask out loud.
Especially when it comes to money, health,

I’ve seen this happen here in Nova Scotia, and it’s devastating every time.
Someone updates their will, documents every wish, and walks away believing their family is protected.
Then they pass away.
And the money goes somewhere they never intended—because a beneficiary designation was never updated.
The will says one thing.
The beneficiary form says another.
And in Canada, the beneficiary designation almost always wins.
Registered accounts, life insurance, and policies with named beneficiaries don’t pass through a will. They bypass probate entirely and go directly to whoever is listed — regardless of what your will says, or what your intentions were.
This isn’t rare. It’s one of the most common gaps in financial and legacy planning.
Life changes—marriage, divorce, children, loss, changing priorities—and your beneficiary designations need to change with it.
This is where having an advisor matters. Not to sell you something, but to make sure your will, insurance, and financial accounts all work together—so your wishes are actually carried out.
A will is important.
But it’s not enough on its own.
If it’s been a while since you reviewed your beneficiaries, a 20‑minute check‑in is often all it takes to confirm things are still aligned — or catch something before it becomes a problem for your family.

We never want to imagine a child falling ill-but if it happens, having critical illness coverage means you can be there fully.

It can replace your income so you don’t have to choose between work and caring for them. And if the best outcome happens, you can get your premiums back.

Let’s ensure your family’s protected no matter what.

A lot of people assume
if they’re healthy, working, and employed —
they’re protected.
Income protection usually isn’t questioned
until it’s suddenly needed.
Quiet conversations early
tend to change everything.
