Ok - I'm bothered, but not for the reason you think.
I lost these clients because another broker told them exactly what they wanted to hear: “no problem.” But in reality, that kind of advice can come with serious risks.
That's why I'm bothered. It's concerning, and causes mistrust in Mortgage Brokers across the board.
We’re talking about situations where you could be put into a legally binding agreement that doesn’t match your actual use of the property, or even face having your loan called if the lender finds out.
I didn’t lose this deal because I’m a bad broker. I lost it because I wasn’t willing to bend the truth to make things sound easier than they are.
The right mortgage isn’t just about getting approved—it’s about making sure you’re protected long term.
If something sounds too easy, it’s worth asking a few more questions, and reading the fine print with a Mortgage Broker willing to give honest, clear and detailed answers.
