Mother’s day,
It’s our day, everyday, isn’t it? 🤷🏻♀️
As we pause on this day, each year, it gives us an opportunity to reflect on our ever-evolving role and journey of motherhood.
The photos below were taken on our recent trip. Who knew this trip came with a twist. Motherhood in this moment meant showing up for my kids in a more calm, brave, and resilient manner. Moments of challenge, carve the path to showing us what being a mother can mean in the darkest of times. I am grateful we were able to return home safely.
The bond of a mother with their child is truly hard to put into words. We love them so hard and we want the best for them. We want them to fly, while keeping their feet planted on the ground, near us. It breaks our heart to see their tears and broken hearts, yet we have to show strength to empower them. Sometimes they learn the lessons of life. We have to show up in many different ways to help them flourish in this “always changing” world. Motherhood can sometimes serve as a paradox, eh?
The one thing we all want is for our kids to be happy in who they are and what they become. As a mother, we play so many roles as each year and chapter passes.
I am so honoured and grateful to be a mom to these two. They keep surprising us with their genius. I couldn’t be more proud to be called “mom.” What a gift. 💝
