Pierre Poilievre calls himself the champion of working Canadians. "Boots not suits," he says. It's his own slogan, his own named policy.
So let's look at the boots.
He lives in a 9,500 square foot government mansion in one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in Canada. A federal Crown corporation maintains it. Chef, chauffeur, household administrator — all paid for with public money.
When he lost his seat in the 2025 election, he no longer had any entitlement to that house. He stayed anyway. He called it saving taxpayers money.
Now the record.
The Canadian Labour Congress — the national voice of three million Canadian workers — has tracked his votes for twenty years. More than 500 votes against workers. Against the right to strike. Against dental care. Against pharmacare. A plan to cut $36 billion from health care.
The CLC president asked it plainly: has anyone ever seen Pierre Poilievre walk a picket line?
Before politics, his only job was collecting overdue phone bills at Telus as a teenager. He entered Parliament at 25 and never left. He has never held a private sector job as an adult.
