CFIA Update for Pet Food Exporters to China

Canada has introduced a new registration process for pet food establishments exporting to China.

What’s changed:
✔ New Checklist & Registration Table required
✔ Applies to both current and new exporters
✔ Chinese audits are no longer required
✔ CFIA inspection still required under certificate HA2756

If you already submitted the old checklist and are still waiting for approval, you must resubmit using the new documents.

Exporters are responsible for completing all documentation before submission.

CFIA Update for Pet Food Exporters to China

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has introduced a new registration process for Canadian pet food establishments exporting to China.

📌 Important changes:
✔ New Checklist and Registration Table required
✔ Existing exporters and new applicants must submit updated documents
✔ Chinese audits are no longer required for approval
✔ CFIA inspections are still required to verify export compliance under certificate HA2756

⚠️ If you previously submitted the old checklist and are still waiting for approval, you must resubmit using the new documents.

It remains the exporter’s responsibility to complete all required documentation before submission.

EV Import Quota from China – Canada Update

Canada has implemented a new import quota on electric vehicles (EVs) from China, starting March 1, 2026.

Canada now limits EV imports from China:
✔ 49,000 vehicles (Year 1)
✔ +6.5% annual increase
✔ First-come, first-served system
