As our HR and Training Coordinator, you'll support day-to-day operations while coordinating and facilitating training that help our teams be the best they can be.

It’s been a year and a half since we planted our microforest, so we thought we’d check in and see how things are growing.

Back in October of 2024, AFM staff joined forces with Sustainable Waterloo Region (Sustainable Waterloo Region) to plant 81 native trees and shrubs right here on our property.

As a mutual rooted in this community, planting something that will benefit the land and the people around us for decades felt like a natural way to give back.

It's still early days. We'll keep tending to it and we look forward to watching it grow year after year.

Cottage season is just about here.

If you have a seasonal property, before you settle in, take a quick walk around. Outside, check the roof, deck and siding for damage. Inside, look for leaks, pests (or evidence of pests), and appliance issues. If you're unsure about turning the water system back on, it’s worth calling a pro for help.

It's also a good time to run through your emergency supplies - flashlights, batteries, first aid kit - and make note of anything that needs attention.

A little time on day one can save a lot of headaches later.

You’ve Got Mail!

Starting July 1, 2026, some Ontario auto accident benefits are becoming optional.

Your current Ontario Auto Statutory Accident Benefits coverage levels aren’t changing, unless you decide to make a change.

Who is covered under these benefits, however, will look a little different.

If you’re an AFM auto policyholder, we’ve sent you a letter with some helpful information about the upcoming changes. It’ll be in your mailbox soon. If you have any questions, we’re happy to help.

We believe in investing in the next generation.

The 2026 AFM Scholarship Program is one of the ways we do that. Applications are now open!

We’re awarding up to $30,000 in scholarships to children of AFM policyholders attending college, university, trades school, or apprenticeship programs.

This year's topic: technology is changing the insurance industry quickly. At AFM, we believe what sets us apart is genuine care, personal relationships, and showing up for people when it matters most.

As a generation shaped by digital experience, help us understand the best ways to share information about insurance and reach the next generation of policyholders? What technologies or tools would you be looking for from an insurance provider, and where should AFM always keep the human touch, no matter what?

It’s a big day in Ayr. The Ayr Farmers Mutual Community Centre sign is now up at the North Dumfries Community Complex. It's the start of a 40-year partnership with the Township of North Dumfries, as part of the Centre for the Community Group’s (CCG) fundraising campaign to bring a second Net Zero arena to the NDCC.

A name on a building is only meaningful if it stands for something. For us, it stands for the community that's been our home for more than 130 years.

A big thank you to the team at Abracadbra Signs for bringing this vision to life.
