Did you know we have a community theatre musical director among us?

Commercial Insurance Broker by day, but by night Nikki Gray does cool things like direct musicals. 🎶

Her newest show opens Friday June 12, 2026 at Horton High School, so if you don’t already have plans, you should definitely take it in. You won’t be disappointed!

A-Wop Bop A-Loo Bop takes us back to the late 1950’s as Rock & Roll is taking the airwaves by storm. Roberta “Ruby” Lester and her friends are spunky teenagers with dreams of making it big in the music business. But sometimes dreams don’t go as planned. When the local radio station announces that “Rock‘n’Roll has got to go”, the kids take a stand for the music they love.

As we head into spring and start pulling out all the battery-powered gear again (lawn equipment, tools, scooters, e-bikes, etc.), it’s a good time for a quick safety check 🔍

Lithium-ion batteries are incredibly convenient, but they do come with real risks ⚠️ if they’re damaged, overcharged, or used incorrectly. Fires related to these batteries are on the rise across Canada, and they can be much harder to control than typical fires 🔥

A few simple habits can go a long way:

• Take a minute to inspect batteries and chargers for any damage or swelling 🔎
• Always use the correct charger for the device 🔌
• Avoid overcharging - unplug once fully charged ⏱️
• Charge on a hard, cool surface away from anything flammable 🧱
• Try not to charge overnight or when you’re not home 🌙
• Never toss old batteries in the garbage - always use proper disposal programs ♻️

I’ve got an e-bike 🚲 myself, so this one hits close to home!
