***FREE Workshop! Scams are on the rise across Canada, and no community is immune, including our own. To help local seniors stay informed and protected, Heaton Place Retirement Community will be hosting a FREE special presentation on Friday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m. featuring fraud prevention expert Julie Matthews.
A former journalist, Global TV Trouble Shooter, and peace officer, Julie Matthews now travels throughout Western Canada delivering engaging and informative talks on the latest scams affecting individuals of all ages. As a certified fraud examiner and board member of the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association, she brings both professional expertise and real-life insight to every presentation.
Fraud is the fastest growing crime in Canada, with increasingly sophisticated tactics targeting seniors online, over the phone, through the mail, and even at their door. While seniors are often targeted, scams are also impacting younger generations, including teens navigating today’s digital world.
This FREE presentation will help attendees recognize warning signs, understand how scams work, and learn what steps to take if they or a loved one are targeted.
Seating is limited. Please reserve your FREE spot by calling 250-546-3353 or emailing [email protected]
