It’s been awhile since we have posted a sunset picture, and there is no better time than just after tidying the vines and mowing the grass. The vineyard is lush and the grapes are ripening. A beautiful time of year to visit!

We are proud to employ two of the many talented local artists in the surrounding area. For the remainder of our season, we are displaying their work in the “bottling room” here at the winery.

Gregory Muszkie is in his 7th season with us, and is the artist on two of our label designs. His work has been displayed at various locations over the years. He is well know locally for his passion for the arts.

Leah Mitchell is in her 4th season here at the winery. She’s still waiting patiently for a chance to do her first label for us (there are only so many different wines we can create here!). In the meantime, her work can also be found at The Flight of Fancy.

Winery hours 11am-6pm daily until October.

Build some time into your visit to enjoy the art!

Construction Alert!

For those confused by the detour signs please do not attempt to use Exit 24 to come to the Winery!

Exit 25 or 23 will both work when coming from the Digby direction.

Exit 23a or 23 will both work when coming from the Valley or Halifax.

When coming in from Annapolis Royal Trunk 1 remains the most direct. Note that Purdy Road becomes Chute Road.

Please call if you need more detailed directions.

The most common place to sit and enjoy the view here at the winery is “The Precipice”, looking out over the vineyard and valley. What most people don’t see is the beautiful stone retaining wall that they are literally sitting on top of. It is only visible from the vineyard, as you look back up at the seating area and barn.

Next time you visit, take a moment to wander a few steps down into the vineyard and get a new perspective on the beauty of the winery. Even frequent visitors have missed this feature!

Open 11am-6pm daily, including holidays

Pinot Noir is known globally as “The Heartbreak Grape”. Over the years, we have certainly experienced that!

Our 2024 vintage is the first that we have bottled since 2021, with weather issues impacting ‘22-‘23 vintages. It also didn’t respond well to the drought in 2025, so there will be no Pinot Noir release next year either.

Having said all that, everything was just right for this “Goldilocks” of a grape in 2024. The vintage is light bodied, as you would expect from a cool climate Pinot. Yet it is rich with red fruit notes and a hint of smokiness.

We had high hopes for this wine in competition, and in the end received a bronze at Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. In a category as difficult as Pinot Noir, we are happy with that! The best in class Pinot was from Oregon, which has established itself at the premier Pinot Noir region in North America.

This wine is selling fast, so don’t wait long to visit! We are open 11am-6pm daily.

Lots to admire here at the vineyard these days. The grapes are well into “fruit set”, when they actually start to look like clusters. The lavender is in full bloom, along with the water lilies. And our blueberries are ripening nicely.

It’s a great time to visit and enjoy a glass of wine or a flight and soak it all in.

Open 11am-6pm daily, including all holidays, until October!

A light touch of frost covered the ground as the sun peeked over the barn this morning. It is too early to tell if there will be any damage to the tender leaves that have opened up over the last few days. The temperature did dip slightly below zero between 5-7am. So, we will see…

In the meantime, we are open 11am-6pm daily for tours, tastings, or enjoying a glass and the view!
