In the main, BIB provides discounted and tailor-made short term and long term solutions to BOPEU members and the general public. Our mission statement reflects our reason for existence – our core purpose. It describes what we do, who we do it for and for what or whose benefit. Babereki Insurance Brokers (BIB), in conjunction with its partners, identifies and packages risk solutions that will meet
and exceed the expectations of their customers. Going forward, BIB will broaden its product range by including other insurance products such as Individual Life insurance, Redundancy Cover, Legal Services Cover and Small Business Insurance. The company’s customers and clients have to date have only included BOPEU members. Going forward, BIB will also sell and administer its products to non BOPEU members including individuals and small business enterprises. The BIB Board and management are committed to ensuring positive returns to its shareholder, the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) and by proxy their members. BIB will do this by ensuring BOPEU members have access to quality, subsidised products and by delivering positive dividends through the Group structures. Our core values articulate the behaviours that will not be sacrificed in the fulfillment of our mission and in pursuit of our vision and strategic goals. We are a union business are we will not sacrifice our union principles of ensuring that our business acts in a worker friendly manner whilst in pursuit of higher returns. Acting with integrity does not contradict Babereki Insurance Brokers’ desire to be enterprising in its approach to driving shareholder value. BIB will pursue opportunities to driving profitability in the most innovative and entrepreneurial manner possible. Lastly, our value of Botho means we are always equally courteous to all our stakeholders (including customers, clients, partners and shareholders) whilst remaining responsive and empathetic to their needs.
