Yesterday, 12 October 2026, MVA Fund launched Case Management Week 2026 under the theme "𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞, 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞" celebrating the vital role that case management plays in restoring lives, supporting rehabilitation and delivering meaningful outcomes for our claimants and their families.

This week, we celebrate the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes and on the frontlines to support people whose lives have been affected by road traffic accidents. During the commemoration of Case Management Week 2026, we recognise the invaluable contribution of case managers and multidisciplinary teams who assist clients through their recovery journey, ensuring access to the care, support, and rehabilitation services needed to rebuild their lives. Through their commitment and expertise, they help restore hope, promote independence, and give clients the Best Chance to a Normal Life.

Case Managers serve as a vital link between claimants, healthcare providers, families, service partners, and support systems, ensuring that our claimants receive the right care, at the right time, and in the right way. Their work promotes recovery, independence, dignity, and overall well-being while helping to navigate often complex support and rehabilitation journeys.

At MVA Fund, Case Management is central to our commitment to restoring lives affected by road traffic crashes. Through personalised support, rehabilitation coordination, and stakeholder collaboration, our Case Management professionals help beneficiaries achieve the best possible outcomes and reintegrate into their families, workplaces, and communities.

As we observe 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we recognise that mental well-being is not only essential for our personal health but also plays a critical role in road safety. Stress, fatigue, anxiety, emotional distress, and poor mental health can affect concentration, judgment, reaction time, and decision-making, increasing the risk of road crashes.

Every road user, whether a driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian, has a responsibility to ensure they are mentally fit before embarking on a journey. Taking care of our mental health helps us make safer choices on the road, remain alert, manage emotions, and avoid risky behaviours that can lead to preventable injuries and loss of life.

As MVA Fund continues to champion road safety and support crash victims, we encourage everyone to prioritise both their mental well-being and safe road use practices.

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Menard Mothetho as the Caretaker Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Mothetho will provide leadership and oversight of the Fund’s operations during the caretaker period, ensuring continuity in the delivery of MVA Fund’s mandate and services to the public and other stakeholders.

MVA Fund wishes Mr Mothetho every success in his new role.
