Bank Gaborone seeks an accomplished, commercially astute and values-driven Managing Director to lead the Bankโs strategic, financial and operational performance and position it for sustained growth and long-term value creation in Botswana.
The incumbent will be accountable to the Board of Directors of Bank Gaborone and will report functionally to the Chief Executive Officer of Capricorn Group.
Key Performance Indicators
โข Provide purpose-led and values-based leadership to the Bank.
โข Partner with the Board and shareholders to shape the Bankโs vision, purpose, medium- and long-term growth ambitions.
โข Craft and own the Bankโs strategic direction with the Executive Management Team, ensuring a clear, executable and measurable strategic business plan.
โข Drive sustainable financial performance, operational excellence, a high-performance culture and compliance with applicable legislative and governance standards.
โข Take overall accountability for managing and mitigating operational, credit, market and related risks through robust controls and disciplined ex*****on.
โข Safeguard the Bankโs assets, reputation and long-term sustainability through sound governance, prudent decision-making and full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
โข Champion the Bankโs people strategy to build leadership capability, talent depth and organisational performance.
โข Act as a key ambassador for the Bank with investors, regulators, clients and other stakeholders, and serve as its spokesperson at relevant engagements.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
โข An appropriate Bachelorโs Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related field.
โข A relevant postgraduate and professional qualification will be an added advantage.
โข A minimum of 7 yearsโ executive management experience in a medium-to-large financial services institution.
โข A minimum of 10 yearsโ relevant commercial banking experience,
โข A strong track record in leadership, business growth and stakeholder management.
