Bank Gaborone was honoured to join the Bank of Botswana, government representatives, financial institutions and members of the community in Kanye to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the P**a and thebe.
Held under the theme, “50 Years of Preserving the Value and Integrity of the P**a,” the celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable journey of our national currency and its important role in Botswana’s economic development.
For five decades, the P**a and thebe have remained enduring symbols of our nation’s sovereignty, resilience and progress, supporting everyday transactions, enabling trade and contributing to the growth and prosperity of Batswana.
As Bank Gaborone, we are proud to have been part of this significant national milestone. We remain committed to contributing towards a strong, inclusive and sustainable financial sector that safeguards the value created today for generations to come.
