We recently had the privilege of hosting members of the Quantitative Analysis & Risk Management (QuARM) Club for a series of sessions on risk management, compliance culture and digitisation in the financial services industry at Bayport. The engagement gave students a closer look at how different functions come together in a modern financial institution, from credit risk and governance to finance, customer experience, and digital channels.
A key objective of these sessions was to bridge academic learning with real world decision making, showing how risk, people, and technology work together to shape financial services today. Seeing how academic theories translate into practical application added a layer of clarity that the classroom alone cannot provide
Members were also introduced to how lending models operate in practice, highlighting how financial services balance accessibility, risk management, and operational efficiency.
These sessions were a great opportunity to interact and share insights from real work experience with future professionals in the sector.
