History
April 1995 two sisters come-up an idea of having a bible study. Sis Norma Calsado & Sis Virgie Calsado were regular attendees of El Shaddai in the Philippines. The idea was suggested to their closed friends and they agreed with it. Sisters; Lota David, Malou Cantos, Paz Mendoza, Merry Bontile, Fe Vivar and Virgie Manuel attended the bible study in the house of the two sisters in Muharraq. A few weeks later the group agreed that Sis. Virgie will lead the bible study with the help of Bro. Both were also regular attendees of El Shaddai in the Philippines. Three months later, Sis. Norma & Virgie Calsado suggested the idea of conducting the bible study in the church. They approach Fr. Felicio Diniz he called the attention of Sis Virgie Manuel & Bro Mas. With the blessing & permission of Fr. Felicio Diniz the group was permitted to have a bible service in the church. From then on the group grows tremendously with new members. As it passes through the test of times the group firmly stands and continue its apostolic community service in the parish through evangelization and prayers. That makes the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI Bahrain Chapter. Our mission is to share the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Joy of our Salvation, and our faith in Him through our own personal testimonies of the power of His Word such as our conversion through repentance and deliverance from the bondage of sin and vices; the transformation from our old self-centered, destructive and confused lives to new victorious lives in Christ Jesus; and the healing of our broken relationships and physical ailments. We want to let the people know that God is alive, that He loves and cares for us and that He is willing to forgive us, heal our diseases, and deliver us from all our troubles if we repent of our sins, turn away from our wicked ways, and establish a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ Who shall set our hearts on fire with the love of God and neighbor. Mission Statement
We declare and affirm our belief that the Lord's primary purpose for us is to provide for the orderly and continued development of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Bahrain. We understand the basic elements of Catholic charismatic renewal to be:
Committing oneself to Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior
Being baptized in the Holy Spirit
Receiving and using charismatic gifts for the building of one's personal spirituality and ministry in the local church
Developing a life of holiness in a Catholic context of faith and practice
Growing together as brothers and sisters in communities and faith and love; and
Witnessing about Jesus Christ through personal testimony and works of mercy and justice
