🛫Assen Yordanov is the designer of the first Bulgarian aircraft. The world-renowned airman and aircraft builder, from whom Neil Armstrong, the first person to set foot on the moon, admits to studying aviation, was born on September 2, 1896 in Sofia. As a child, he most loved making kites.
👨✈ Assen Yordanov has permenently established in the United States. There he continued his education and completed aerospace, radio engineering, chemistry and physics. At the Curtis concern, where he began working as a draftsman, he gradually rose to the position of chief designer. He also works in the design teams of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers Boeing, Lockheed and Douglas. The large range of technical and scientific knowledge of the young inventor proves to be more than effective. Soon his adolescent dream came true, he designed the world's first multi-purpose aircraft, the Douglas DS-3, which was one of the best civilian aircraft in the 1930s. Remarkable is his involvement in the design of the Boeing models known during World War II - the B-17, the B-29 Super-Fortress, and the Lighting P-38. The inventions and innovations of the Bulgarian genius have no boundaries.
