WEDDING STORIES // These past months have been wild. And whilst I catch my breath, for some autumn lovin’, I feel happy. Tired but happy. And more than ever before, I have come to realise how much
I
love
love
love
wedding days.
These past twelve months have been quite the rollercoaster, and I guess telling stories has kept me (somewhat) sane. Connecting with people has kept me on my feet.
How I love to be close to people, to pour meaning into wedding days, to write down the love(ly) stuff, whilst making room for the ugly stuff too.
And maybe, I have never been happier with myself being a storyteller than I am today. (...) You see, for some time in the past, I slowed down. I said ‘NO’ to the wedding season being wild.
After years of running, I refreshed my creative soul, with some more stillness. I established new forms of storytelling that go way beyond the wedding ceremony. I did weddings abroad, first and foremost. And oh, how I love to build connections throughout these multi-day events. (...)
And so these wild, past twelve months have made me realise I want more. I want to work with couples, families, wedding planners, grooms, brides… MORE.
More magic. More meaning. More love.
Less trends.
More brotherhood.
Less showcasing.
More sisterhood.
More understanding within communities, as a result of the love put down in words and shared on wedding days.
Dear all, I know we are far away still from New Year's resolutions. But I am bound to put storytelling at the center of wedding days, once and for all. Not just because I believe in it, but because this world needs it.
May love be outspoken!
In case you are with me on this one, let me know. In case you are to wed, I wanna get to know you. In case you are a wedding planner and you want to get to know me, I gladly present you with some wild & loving ideas.
I would love to go on a journey together.
Cheers,
Lieke
PS. My 2027 agenda is wide open for weddings. ♡
