Micro Enterprises:

Small Enterprises:

Financial Threshold: ≤ €10 million

Medium-sized Enterprises:

EU Directive on AIFMD.

AIF's are non-retail funds which involves investors to contribute with each other in order to invest in an investment policy. From 2013, AIFs are now harmonised with provisions found in the directive AIFMD. AIF are subject to; Marketing Alternative investment act, Management Acts and pan-EU pass-porting.

Characteristics of AIFM;

1. EU Directive, hence a MS can tailor made such a directive into local law.
2. Includes all type of collective investments other than UCITS.
