As expected, the price again attempted to break out on Thursday, but since the breakout failed, the index dropped today.

The next support levels are 4964 and then 4897.

From a psychological perspective, this fall is mainly due to political uncertainty and a healthy market correction. Today the index went down on low volume, which is not very alarming.

Since the election schedule (Tafsil) is expected to be announced next week, I believe that even if the index sees some correction in the next 1–2 days, there is a good possibility that the index will turn positive towards the end of the week —
as long as the support levels are not broken.

DSEX faced rejection from its key resistance near 5,075. The index may drop towards 4,965 or lower. However, a retest of 5,057 is still possible. If it breaks above this level, the next resistance could be around 5,167.

The government has decided not to provide any new bailout funds to the state-owned Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB). The institution had requested Tk 13,000 crore as what it called its “last hope” for financial recovery. However, the Finance Ministry has said no more funds will be provided; instead, ICB must generate income through market investments. Due to record losses and limited impact of previous support, ICB will now have to rely on its own earnings, dividends, and cost-cutting measures. While the authority blames mismanagement by the previous board, experts say restructuring is essential for survival.
